Discover a whole new world
The EDX high-resolution finder scope (EDX HR = high resolution) means the maximum optical experience of vivid colors, high resolution and image sharpness, as well as unprecedented image brightness.
The performance of the EDX-HR is also reflected in its appearance
The carefully selected decorative elements and materials are put together in a harmonious combination with high quality expectations in mind, which give these binoculars a unique and stylish appearance, a refined and comfortable feel. The short bridge not only enables an optimal and safe grip. Extra-large Schmidt-Pechan high-performance prisms are responsible for a fantastic viewing experience. The sharpness of the image seen together with the large field of view (132 m / 1000 m) gives the observer the feeling that he/she is in the center of the action.
Light transmission with outstanding values
The newly developed PHC 140 phase correction coating for the EDX-HR series eliminates 99 percent of all unwanted wave optical effects and thus prevents even the slightest blurring. Dielectric phase mirrors create the prerequisites for a total light transmission of 94%. This guarantees remarkably good contrast reproduction.
Contrast optics
As important as the brightness of the binoculars is, contrast is just as important to the brilliance of the image. The binoculars of the EDX-HR series have been specially developed to show even the smallest differences in color and light in highly differentiated contrast. What does this mean? First, the contrast range of a binoculars is the area between the brightest and darkest points. When it comes to the brilliance of an image, it's not just the range of contrast that matters. Intermediate levels of differentiation are also important. Depending on the number of these levels of differentiation, the binoculars is able to deliver image information and thus give the user the impression that the device provides accurate details and exceptional image sharpness.
Optics that reduce light scattering
In sports optics, stray light is a diffuse light that is created by reflection between the lenses and the device housing. This harmful effect of light has been reduced in the EDX-HR binoculars to such an extent that scattered light effects can hardly occur, even if deliberately provoked. This means that the veiling effect is almost impossible in the case of sideways moonlight or direct sunlight. All DDoptics binoculars are equipped with a system that reduces the presence of harmful light. EDX-HR deploys the most advanced technology to achieve this goal.
Function-based design
Perfection is not debatable. After a few seconds of handling, you can determine whether the hunting binoculars are comfortable to hold, whether what you see through the binoculars is immediately inspiring, and whether the manufacturer has managed to package all of this in convincing mechanics. The edges of the cover noticeably improve grip and ensure a perfect grip even in wet weather. The easy, yet precise movement of the focusing dial will convince professional ornithologists in particular. Autofocus "Smart Focus" provides a focus range from 50m to infinity on the 8x42 (60m to 10x42), within which hardly any re-adjustment is necessary.
Robustness for a lifetime
DDoptics binoculars are subjected to ruthless endurance tests. From arctic cold to sub-boiling temperatures, including tropical humidity and water baths. All this in order to ensure that the binoculars is ready for use at any time and in any environment. EDX-HR binoculars are made of magnesium (frame) and duralumin (wear parts), so they are prepared for use in any harsh environment.
Metal eyecup that can be fixed in four positions
Both users with and without glasses can set the optimal distance between the eye and the contact lens. The indestructible duralumin eyecups optimally protect the eyepieces and can be completely removed for cleaning.
